Day Six - Tiki Hut

In years past, we spent the last night in camp camby; sleeping on bunk beds, playing dodgeball and kickball (a.k.a. The world series of cover), and listening to Jon woo us on the piano. So when we heard that camp camby was cancelled, we were bummed. Sleeping on another church floor? Who’s idea was this?

We arrived to a pleasant surprise at our overnight location. It was a building called “Pier 14”, apparently designed as a high school rec center. It has a tropical theme, complete with a Tiki room!

The Tiki room rocks. It has a pool table, a kareoke machine with an iPod hookup, cozy sofas, etc. I’ve spent all afternoon and evening in here. At first I tried to persuade people into kareoke, but gave up and started DJ’ing. I’ve played a few games of pool, had a lot of laughs, and made a lot of progress in my book. This is definitely my favorite day in any year of Cover Indiana.

Tomorrow is only 19 miles, and it ends with a police escort into Indy. Forcast calls for headwinds and rain, but no worries, it’s a short ride.
